# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

**llapi\_lov\_string\_pattern()** converts the comma-separated list of LOV pattern names in *string* to a mask of **LOV\_PATTERN\_\*** flags returned in *pattern*.

# [RETURN VALUES](#RETURN_VALUES)

**llapi\_lov\_string\_pattern(**) returns 0 on success, or **-EINVAL** on failure (in which case, errno is set appropriately).
