CURLINFO\_CONTENT\_LENGTH\_UPLOAD(3) Library Functions Manual CURLINFO\_CONTENT\_LENGTH\_UPLOAD(3)

# [NAME](#NAME)

CURLINFO\_CONTENT\_LENGTH\_UPLOAD - specified size of the upload

# [SYNOPSIS](#SYNOPSIS)

```
#include <curl/curl.h>
CURLcode curl_easy_getinfo(CURL *handle, CURLINFO_CONTENT_LENGTH_UPLOAD,
                           double *content_length);
```

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

Pass a pointer to a double to receive the specified size of the upload. Since 7.19.4, this returns -1 if the size is not known.

[*CURLINFO\_CONTENT\_LENGTH\_UPLOAD\_T(3)*](/man/os/curl/CURLINFO_CONTENT_LENGTH_UPLOAD_T.3) is a newer replacement that returns a more sensible variable type.

# [PROTOCOLS](#PROTOCOLS)

# [EXAMPLE](#EXAMPLE)

    /* Perform the upload */

    result = curl_easy_perform(curl);

    if(result == CURLE_OK) {

      /* check the size */

      double cl;

      result = curl_easy_getinfo(curl, CURLINFO_CONTENT_LENGTH_UPLOAD, &cl);

      if(result == CURLE_OK) {

        printf("Size: %.0f\n", cl);

      }

    }

  }
}
```
