gengen - manual page for gengen 1.4.3

**gengen** \[*OPTIONS*]...

GNU gengen 1.4.3

This program, given a skeleton source file with some parts to be replaced, generates a program that generates that source, and substitutes those parts as specified.

[**-h**, **--help**](#h)

Print help and exit

[**-V**, **--version**](#V)

Print version and exit

[**-i**, **--input**=*file*](#i)

input file (default std input)

[**-F**, **--file-name**=*name*](#F)

name used for generating file (default stdout)

[**-f**, **--gen-name**=*STRING*](#f)

prefix for generated code (default=\`gengen')

[**--output-format**=*lang*](#output)

target language (cpp, c, lua) (default=\`cpp')

[**--output-dir**=*STRING*](#output~2)

output directory (default current dir)

[**--separate-files**](#separate)

output to separate files (header, source). require **--file-name**

[**--expand-tabs**](#expand)

strings containing newlines are indented according to the current indentation level

[**--no-gen-version**](#no)

do not put gengen version in the generated file

[**--test-mode**](#test)

even with errors exit with 0 (this is only for testing purposes)

[**--force**](#force)

force regeneration of output code
