[gnutls\_session\_t session](#gnutls_session_t)

is a **gnutls\_session\_t** type.

[gnutls\_record\_encryption\_level\_t level](#gnutls_record_encryption_level_t)

the current encryption level for reading a handshake message

[const void * data](#const)

the (const) handshake data to be processed

[size\_t data\_size](#size_t)

the size of data

This function processes a handshake message in the encryption level specified with *level* . Prior to calling this function, a handshake read callback must be set on *session* . Use **gnutls\_handshake\_set\_read\_function()** to do this.
