**int gnutls\_hash\_squeeze(gnutls\_hash\_hd\_t handle, void * output, size\_t length);**

[gnutls\_hash\_hd\_t handle](#gnutls_hash_hd_t)

a **gnutls\_hash\_hd\_t**

[void * output](#void)

destination to store the output; must be equal to or larger than *length*

[size\_t length](#size_t)

length of *output*

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

This function will extract digest output of *length* bytes. The *handle* must be initialized with **gnutls\_hash\_init()** as an extended output function (XOF), such as **GNUTLS\_DIG\_SHAKE\_128** or **GNUTLS\_DIG\_SHAKE\_256**.

This function can be called multiple times. To reset the state of *handle* , call **gnutls\_hash\_deinit()** with **NULL** as the digest argument.

**GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) on success; negative error code otherwise.
