**int gnutls\_hex2bin(const char * hex\_data, size\_t hex\_size, void * bin\_data, size\_t * bin\_size);**

[const char * hex\_data](#const)

string with data in hex format

[size\_t hex\_size](#size_t)

size of hex data

[void * bin\_data](#void)

output array with binary data

[size\_t * bin\_size](#size_t~2)

when calling should hold maximum size of *bin\_data* , on return will hold actual length of *bin\_data* .

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

Convert a buffer with hex data to binary data. This function unlike **gnutls\_hex\_decode()** can parse hex data with separators between numbers. That is, it ignores any non-hex characters.

# [RETURNS](#RETURNS)

**GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** on success, otherwise a negative error code.
