**int gnutls\_session\_ticket\_enable\_server(gnutls\_session\_t session, const gnutls\_datum\_t * key);**

# [ARGUMENTS](#ARGUMENTS)

[gnutls\_session\_t session](#gnutls_session_t)

is a **gnutls\_session\_t** type.

[const gnutls\_datum\_t * key](#const)

key to encrypt session parameters.

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

Request that the server should attempt session resumption using session tickets, i.e., by delegating storage to the client.  
*key* must be initialized using **gnutls\_session\_ticket\_key\_generate()**. To avoid leaking that key, use **gnutls\_memset()** prior to releasing it.

The default ticket expiration time can be overridden using **gnutls\_db\_set\_cache\_expiration()**.

On success, **GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) is returned, or an error code.
