# [NAME](#NAME)

gnutls\_transport\_set\_push\_function - API function

# [SYNOPSIS](#SYNOPSIS)

**#include <gnutls/gnutls.h>**

**void gnutls\_transport\_set\_push\_function(gnutls\_session\_t session, gnutls\_push\_func push\_func);**

# [ARGUMENTS](#ARGUMENTS)

[gnutls\_session\_t session](#gnutls_session_t)

is a **gnutls\_session\_t** type.

[gnutls\_push\_func push\_func](#gnutls_push_func)

a callback function similar to **write()**

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

This is the function where you set a push function for gnutls to use in order to send data. If you are going to use berkeley style sockets, you do not need to use this function since the default [send(2)](/man/os/gnutls/send.2) will probably be ok. Otherwise you should specify this function for gnutls to be able to send data. The callback should return a positive number indicating the bytes sent, and -1 on error.

*push\_func* is of the form, ssize\_t (\*gnutls\_push\_func)(gnutls\_transport\_ptr\_t, const void\*, size\_t);
