[const gnutls\_x509\_crt\_t * cert\_list](#const)

is the certificate list to be verified

[unsigned cert\_list\_length](#unsigned)

holds the number of certificate in cert\_list

[const gnutls\_x509\_crt\_t * CA\_list](#const~2)

is the CA list which will be used in verification

[unsigned CA\_list\_length](#unsigned~2)

holds the number of CA certificate in CA\_list

[const gnutls\_x509\_crl\_t * CRL\_list](#const~3)

holds a list of CRLs.

[unsigned CRL\_list\_length](#unsigned~3)

the length of CRL list.

[unsigned int flags](#unsigned~4)

Flags that may be used to change the verification algorithm. Use OR of the gnutls\_certificate\_verify\_flags enumerations.

[unsigned int * verify](#unsigned~5)

will hold the certificate verification output.

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

This function will try to verify the given certificate list and return its status. The details of the verification are the same as in **gnutls\_x509\_trust\_list\_verify\_crt2()**.

You must check the peer's name in order to check if the verified certificate belongs to the actual peer.

The certificate verification output will be put in *verify* and will be one or more of the gnutls\_certificate\_status\_t enumerated elements bitwise or'd. For a more detailed verification status use **gnutls\_x509\_crt\_verify()** per list element.

On success, **GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) is returned, otherwise a negative error value.
