[gnutls\_aead\_cipher\_hd\_t handle](#gnutls_aead_cipher_hd_t)

is a **gnutls\_aead\_cipher\_hd\_t** type.

[const void * nonce](#const)

the nonce to set

[size\_t nonce\_len](#size_t)

The length of the nonce

[const giovec\_t * auth\_iov](#const~2)

additional data to be authenticated

[int auth\_iovcnt](#int)

The number of buffers in *auth\_iov*

[const giovec\_t * iov](#const~3)

the data to be encrypted

[int iovcnt](#int~2)

The number of buffers in *iov*

[void * tag](#void)

The authentication tag

[size\_t * tag\_size](#size_t~2)

The size of the tag to use (use zero for the default)

This is similar to **gnutls\_aead\_cipher\_encrypt()**, but it performs in-place encryption on the provided data buffers.
