**int gnutls\_dh\_params\_export\_pkcs3(gnutls\_dh\_params\_t params, gnutls\_x509\_crt\_fmt\_t format, unsigned char * params\_data, size\_t * params\_data\_size);**

[gnutls\_dh\_params\_t params](#gnutls_dh_params_t)

Holds the DH parameters

[gnutls\_x509\_crt\_fmt\_t format](#gnutls_x509_crt_fmt_t)

the format of output params. One of PEM or DER.

[unsigned char * params\_data](#unsigned)

will contain a PKCS3 DHParams structure PEM or DER encoded

[size\_t * params\_data\_size](#size_t)

holds the size of params\_data (and will be replaced by the actual size of parameters)

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

This function will export the given dh parameters to a PKCS3 DHParams structure. This is the format generated by "openssl dhparam" tool. If the buffer provided is not long enough to hold the output, then GNUTLS\_E\_SHORT\_MEMORY\_BUFFER will be returned.

If the structure is PEM encoded, it will have a header of "BEGIN DH PARAMETERS".

On success, **GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) is returned, otherwise a negative error code is returned.
