# [NAME](#NAME)

gnutls\_encode\_rs\_value - API function

# [SYNOPSIS](#SYNOPSIS)

**#include <gnutls/crypto.h>**

**int gnutls\_encode\_rs\_value(gnutls\_datum\_t * sig\_value, const gnutls\_datum\_t * r, const gnutls\_datum\_t * s);**

# [ARGUMENTS](#ARGUMENTS)

[gnutls\_datum\_t * sig\_value](#gnutls_datum_t)

will hold a Dss-Sig-Value DER encoded structure

[const gnutls\_datum\_t * r](#const)

must contain the r value

[const gnutls\_datum\_t * s](#const~2)

must contain the s value

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

This function will encode the provided r and s values, into a Dss-Sig-Value structure, used for DSA and ECDSA signatures.

The output value should be deallocated using **gnutls\_free()**.

# [RETURNS](#RETURNS)

On success, **GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) is returned, otherwise an error code is returned.
