**int gnutls\_pkcs11\_privkey\_get\_pk\_algorithm(gnutls\_pkcs11\_privkey\_t key, unsigned int * bits);**

# [ARGUMENTS](#ARGUMENTS)

[gnutls\_pkcs11\_privkey\_t key](#gnutls_pkcs11_privkey_t)

should contain a **gnutls\_pkcs11\_privkey\_t** type

[unsigned int * bits](#unsigned)

if bits is non null it will hold the size of the parameters' in bits

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

This function will return the public key algorithm of a private key.

# [RETURNS](#RETURNS)

a member of the **gnutls\_pk\_algorithm\_t** enumeration on success, or a negative error code on error.
