ECONF\_DELIMITER\_TAG(3) libeconf Manual ECONF\_DELIMITER\_TAG(3)

# [NAME](#NAME)

econf\_delimiter\_tag - get the key-value delimiter character from a configuration file structure

# [SYNOPSIS](#SYNOPSIS)

```
#include <libeconf.h>
```

**char econf\_delimiter\_tag(econf\_file \*key\_file);**

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

The **econf\_delimiter\_tag**() function retrieves the character used as the delimiter between keys and values in the configuration file represented by the structure pointed to by *key\_file*.

For standard INI-style files, this delimiter is typically the equals sign (=). The delimiter can be set manually during file creation or parsing (e.g., via **econf\_set\_delimiter\_tag**()). This function allows retrieving the currently configured delimiter.

# [RETURN VALUE](#RETURN_VALUE)

On success, **econf\_delimiter\_tag**() returns the delimiter character (**char**).

# [ERRORS](#ERRORS)

This function does not return an **econf\_err** code directly.
