ECONF\_HASQUOTES(3) libeconf Manual ECONF\_HASQUOTES(3)

# [NAME](#NAME)

econf\_hasQuotes - check whether the value of a key is enclosed by quotes

# [SYNOPSIS](#SYNOPSIS)

```
#include <libeconf.h>
```

**bool econf\_hasQuotes(econf\_file \*kf, const char \*group, const char \*key);**

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

The **econf\_hasQuotes**() function checks whether the value of the key specified by *group* and *key* in the given configuration file object *kf* is enclosed by quotes. If *group* is **NULL**, the key is considered to belong to no group.

A value is enclosed by quotes either because it was parsed from a configuration file where it was written with a leading quote character, or because it was marked as such with **econf\_setQuotes**(). This flag only affects how the value will be enclosed by quotes when the configuration is written back with **econf\_writeFile**().

# [RETURN VALUE](#RETURN_VALUE)

**econf\_hasQuotes**() returns **true** if the value of the given *group*/*key* is enclosed by quotes, and **false** otherwise.

**false** is also returned if *kf* is **NULL**, or if the *group*/*key* combination has not been found.
