# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

The [**io\_uring\_cq\_eventfd\_enabled**(3)](/man/os/liburing/io_uring_cq_eventfd_enabled.3) function returns whether eventfd notifications are currently enabled for the io\_uring instance specified by *ring*.

An eventfd can be registered with a ring using [**io\_uring\_register\_eventfd**(3)](/man/os/liburing/io_uring_register_eventfd.3) or [**io\_uring\_register\_eventfd\_async**(3)](/man/os/liburing/io_uring_register_eventfd_async.3). Once registered, notifications can be temporarily disabled using [**io\_uring\_cq\_eventfd\_toggle**(3)](/man/os/liburing/io_uring_cq_eventfd_toggle.3).

# [RETURN VALUE](#RETURN_VALUE)

Returns **true** if eventfd notifications are enabled, or **false** if disabled.
