[*conn*](#conn)

The XCB connection to X11.

[*window*](#window)

The window to terminate redirection of. Must have previously been selected for sub-redirection by the current client, or a Value error results.

[*update*](#update)

The update type passed to RedirectSubWindows. If this does not match the previously requested update type, a Value error results.

# [DESCRIPTION](#DESCRIPTION)

Redirection of all children of window will be terminated.

# [RETURN VALUE](#RETURN_VALUE)

Returns an *xcb\_void\_cookie\_t*. Errors (if any) have to be handled in the event loop.

If you want to handle errors directly with *xcb\_request\_check* instead, use *xcb\_composite\_unredirect\_subwindows\_checked*. See [**xcb-requests(3)**](/man/os/libxcb/xcb-requests.3) for details.
