.PP The **polkitd.conf** file is the configuration file for the **polkitd** system daemon. The configuration format is INI style, with sections and key=value pairs.

.PP The configuration file located at /etc/polkit-1/polkitd.conf has the highest precedence, if found. If not, /run/polkit-1/polkitd.conf will be used. If neither file is found, /usr/lib/polkit-1/polkitd.conf will be used. If no configuration file is found, default settings compiled into **polkitd** will be used.

.PP The \[Polkitd] section accepts the following keys.

.SS "ExpirationSeconds="

.PP Specifies the default expiration time, in seconds, for temporary authorizations granted by **polkitd** via interactive authentication. The default value is 300 (5 minutes).
