Display the contents of a text file

[**-d**, **--silent**](#d)

Display help instead of ringing bell when an illegal key is pressed

[**-f**, **--logical**](#f)

Count logical lines, rather than screen lines

[**-e**, **--exit-on-eof**](#e)

Exit on End-Of-File

[**-l**, **--no-pause**](#l)

Do not pause after any line containing a ^L (form feed)

[**-p**, **--print-over**](#p)

Do not scroll, clear screen and display text

[**-c**, **--clean-print**](#c)

Do not scroll, display text and clean line ends

[**-s**, **--squeeze**](#s)

Squeeze multiple blank lines into one

[**-n**, **--lines** *<number>*](#n)

The number of lines per screen full

[**--number**](#number)

Same as --lines option argument

[**-F**, **--from-line** *<number>*](#F)

Start displaying each file at line number

The string to be searched in each file before starting to display it
